We arrived safely in Marrakech flight was uneventful, we were duly picked up by our driver as arranged then endured the journey to the Riad, traffic was horrendous Marrkesh is circled by a wall of some 19 km where all the traffic appears to circle the outside. We arrived at the Riad which was down a very small side street, and entered through a very large wooden door, once inside it was very quite and away from the bustle of the streets outside, it was really serene and quite place with what you would expect typical Moroccan decor, beautiful. We were then shown to our room which was everything we expected, but, (there is always a but) our worse nightmare were realised (we thought this may have been the case as from the Riad photo’s) the on suite toilet and shower had no door just an arch without a curtain we all fell about laughing, our trips just get better and better, and our friendship has just reached a new level. As we arrived about 7pm we had arranged dinner at the Riad which we had on the roof terrace under a very nice pergola, the meal consisted of an aubergine appetiser with Moroccan spices, it looked like minced meat it was delicious. Then the main meal arrived which was a large dish of various vegetable’s, lamb, chicken, potatoes absolutely cooked to perfection, then followed by a fresh fruit salad. Just superb finished off by coffee. It was then of to bed as no doubt a full day will be had tomorrow.
